Cette rencontre avec Stéphanie Melyon-Reinette est organisée par le Groupe de recherche en études littéraires et culturelles comparées au Canada et au Québec (VersUS).
Stéphanie Melyon-Reinette, PhD in American graduated of the University of the French West Indies. She is a sociologist, and a performer artist. She willingly defines herself as an explorer, as her various works and productions — scientific and artistic — are intrinsically linked and operate in reverberation. She navigates between the Americas, the Caribbean, the South and Europe through her explorations. Among her research interests: diaspora (Haiti), integration, integration strategies, empowerment, sexuality and gender (Afro-feminism, feminisms, masculinities), Cultural studies (music and dance of the African diaspora), black body and performance, Caribbean queerness, etc. As an artist, she is a performer and dancer-choreographer, poetess and writer. She founded her dance company, ANAMNESIS-K in 2016 in her home island, Guadeloupe. She is also a TV producer & host with her TV show TANAMA, a health-and-culture-oriented magazine.
