Preparing An Application File
Although these documents are not required by the program you are applying for, they may be a key component in your research director’s decision. This preparation will demonstrate your commitment and skills.
Prepare an application file and include, if possible:
A resume featuring your research experience, publications, professional experience, and any other relevant information (one or two pages maximum);
An outline of your research project;
A cover letter or letter of intent;
One or two recommendation letters from professors who influenced your academic career.
Final step
Once you have found your subject and your candidate file is well prepared, you will be ready to convince a professor to oversee your research project. The exact moment you have concluded your mentoring agreement varies according to faculty. Consult the reference table to determine which situation applies to your program.
- Don't forget to check the deadlines for submitting your application.
