Canada Research Chair on Inclusivity and Active Ageing
The proportion of our society made up by elderly persons is increasing rapidly, and it is important to help seniors retain agency in their own lives for as long as possible. Professor Ruth Ndjaboue, Canada Research Chair in Inclusivity and Active Ageing, is using unique and innovative methods to make better sense of the interdisciplinary knowledge of active aging.
Professor Ndjaboue and her research team want to develop a better understanding of the complex relations between individual and social factors, on the one hand, and health factors associated with active aging on the other. They plan to facilitate the transfer and optimal use of our complex knowledge of active aging through an approach that takes vulnerable seniors into account and by using tools that adapt to the needs, challenges and priorities of various segments of our aging population.
