Professor - Tier 1 Canada Research Chair

Designated group: Indigenous Peoples

Participating faculties: Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

As part of the call for proposals for the Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP), the Université de Sherbrooke is seeking applications from individuals who identify as Indigenous to fill a professorship for a Tier 1 CRC.

This call for proposals is aimed at both current UdeS professors and external candidates.

Deadline for submitting applications: Monday, August 02, 2026 at 5 p.m.

Professor - Tier 2 Canada Research Chair

Designated group: Persons with disabilities

Participating faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science and Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

As part of the call for proposals for the Canada Research Chairs Program (CRCP), the Université de Sherbrooke (UdeS) is seeking applications from the designated group of persons with disabilities to fill a professorship for a Tier 2 Canada Research Chair.

This call for proposals is open only to external candidates, meaning individuals who do not currently hold a professorial position at UdeS at the deadline for the current posting.

Deadline for submitting applications: Monday, August 02, 2026 at 5 p.m.

The Canada Research Chairs Program is a prestigious program at the centre of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world's top countries in research and development.

  • Tier 1 Chairs, tenable for seven years and renewable once, are for outstanding researchers acknowledged by their peers as world leaders in their fields.
  • Tier 2 Chairs, tenable for five years and renewable once, are for exceptional emerging researchers, acknowledged by their peers as having the potential to lead in their field. The intent of Tier 2 Chairs is to provide emerging researchers with support that will kick-start their careers.
