Current Call for Proposals
Canada Research Chairs Program
As part of the call for proposals for the Canada Research Chairs (CRC) Program, the Université de Sherbrooke is seeking applications to fill professorships for Tier 1 CRC.
This call for proposals is aimed at both current Université de Sherbrooke's professors and external candidates.
The faculty affiliation will be determined based on the candidate's expertise and research program focus.
The deadline for submitting applications is Tuesday, January 5, 2027 at 5 p.m.
Canada Research Chairs Program
Professor - Tier 1 Canada Research Chair
Designated group: Visible minorities
Participating faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences
The CRC proposal must be in line with one of the following five Unifying Research Themes:
- Technological innovation and Quantum sciences
- Climate Action and Biodiversity
- Sustainable Health
- Aging Population
- Education for All Generations

Designated group: Women and gender equity-seeking groups
Participating faculties: Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences

The Canada Research Chairs Program is a prestigious program at the centre of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world's top countries in research and development.
- Tier 1 Chairs, tenable for seven years and renewable once, are for outstanding researchers acknowledged by their peers as world leaders in their fields. Renewal applications are subject to peer review by the CRC Program and by the Université de Sherbrooke.
