Canada Research Chair in Clinical Governance on Primary Health Care

Primary health care generally refers to the first point of contact between a patient and the health care system. It can include illness prevention, health promotion, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and counselling. To improve the performance of any health care system, transforming and improving primary health care is the critical first step. As Canada Research Chair in Clinical Governance of Primary Health Care, Professor Mylaine Breton is contributing to the creation of knowledge and innovative practices in primary health care.

Working with decision-makers, clinicians and patients, she and her research team are analyzing the key characteristics of successful primary care models and innovations. Their research focuses on improving strategies to support efficient changes in health care practices.
