To become familiar with and understand the potential applications of information technology in organizations; to be aware of the manager’s role and involvement in its integration, planning and development.

Contenu

Organizational, economic and human context. Potential applications of management and information technology: transactional systems, decision-making and managerial support, strategic information systems. Office automation, telecommunications and networks. Manager involvement: systems planning, role of equipment, software and people, identification and meeting of information-related needs. Use of microcomputers for managerial purposes.
