Integration
Every arrival at the Quantum Institute marks the beginning of a new adventure—often in an unfamiliar environment, culture, or community. We do everything we can to make this transition as smooth and welcoming as possible.
Proud of its international community, the IQ welcomes people from around the world every year who share a passion for science and innovation.
The orientation meeting allows to:

This event is also an opportunity for newcomers to meet each other, discuss their backgrounds, and build relationships from the start. These initial connections foster collaboration between groups, break down isolation, and help make IQ a place where everyone quickly finds their place.

At the Quantum Institute, we believe that science thrives on human connections, and we want to take concrete action to promote the well-being of our community. Throughout the year, the IQ Social Committee organizes a variety of activities that bring the community together and encourage scientific, cultural, and social exchanges.
These moments of sharing aim to reach our entire community by offering a variety of activities where everyone can find something that inspires them, while respecting different lifestyles and realities, whether family, personal, or professional.
The richness of our community lies in its human and cultural diversity, and it is in this spirit that students are actively involved in the social committee. Together, they help shape a program that reflects their desires and strengthens ties within the Institute.
Language lunches
To promote exchange and inclusion, the Quantum Institute has set up language lunches, regular meetings dedicated to practicing French in a friendly and relaxed setting. Far from the pressure of classes and performance, these moments allow everyone to progress at their own pace while sharing a meal and authentic conversations.
Beyond language, language lunches are an invitation to discover new cultures, forge links between groups, and build bridges between people who, although brought together by science, also want to open up to Quebec's French-speaking culture and fully integrate into it.
Together, we break down the isolation that language barriers can create and strengthen the sense of belonging to an open, inclusive, and caring community.
Intranet
The Quantum Institute's intranet is much more than just a collection of information and work tools. It is a real space for the whole community to connect, keeping up to date with social events, discovering current initiatives, and promoting IQ members.
It also serves as a means of communication between groups, promoting exchanges and encounters beyond the walls of the Institute. Thanks to this platform, members can forge links, become fully integrated into the community, and enrich their experience on a human, cultural, and social level.
