Quantum accomplices

What is it?

Quantum accomplices from a variety of fields are committed to exploring how quantum computers can be mobilized to solve complex problems specific to their fields of research. These advanced technologies offer unique potential for processing huge volumes of data or managing numerous parameters, tasks often impossible to achieve on conventional computers. By harnessing the computing power of quantum computers, these researchers aim to improve the accuracy of results and overcome the limitations of traditional methods, paving the way for significant advances in their respective disciplines.

History

From the very first years of the IQ, the advancement of knowledge and the development of quantum technologies as a whole led to a realization: the need to reach out to other disciplines that would benefit from using tools such as the quantum computer, but also to reflect on the development of these quantum technologies and measure their impact beyond science. It is for this reason that IQ has chosen to extend its expertise and reach out to disciplines such as finance, management, political science, mathematics and chemistry.

Currently at IQ

IQ's “quantum accomplices” axis came into being recently, with the advancement of research in quantum science and technology. It illustrates the interdisciplinary collaboration between researchers from diverse fields such as management, finance, mathematics, chemistry, biology and medicine, with a common interest in the use of quantum technologies.

This line of research also integrates a humanities and social sciences dimension. By fostering ongoing dialogue between researchers, representatives of civil society and decision-makers, it strives to develop ethical and responsible research practices in line with advances in quantum science and technology. By integrating these varied perspectives, the IQ is not limited to the technical applications of quantum computers, but is also committed to reflecting on their social impacts. In this way, the Institute contributes to research that, while at the cutting edge of innovation, remains beneficial and responsible for society as a whole.
