Ophélie Tremblay
Ophélie Tremblay is a professor in the Department of Language Didactics at the Université du Québec à Montréal. Her current research focuses on the author circle approach at the primary level as a means of developing writing, reading and oral communication skills. As part of the project Enseignement et pratiques enseignantes à l'extérieur (Teaching and Teaching Practices in Outdoor Environments), she is interested in the declared practices of teaching French (writing, reading, language) in outdoor environments. In addition, driven by her love of words and her expertise in lexicon didactics, she is also interested in teaching approaches that foster the development of lexical sensitivity (an affective and cognitive relationship with words), the uses of electronic dictionaries in the classroom, and the interactions between everyday vocabulary and subject-specific vocabulary in elementary school textbooks.
