Olivier Arvisais

Olivier Arvisais is a professor in the Department of Didactics in the Faculty of Education at UQAM. His research is mainly divided into two poles. First, he focuses on the didactics of humanities and social sciences. In this field, his research deals mainly with the development of empathy and deliberative practices in the social universe teaching at the primary level. He is also interested in teaching social universe content outdoors. Finally, he is also a specialist in education in risky situations. In this area, his research focuses on education initiatives in refugee camps, child protection through social-emotional learning, and education in the context of political violence or under armed groups and totalitarian proto-states.
