Priscila Castillo-Ruiz

Ph.D. in Biology, Master in Education

Priscila Castillo-Ruiz has a B.Sc. and MSc. in Biology, from the National University of Mexico (UNAM). S

he received the “Gabino Barreda Award” for excellence in her master’s degree in 1985. In the same year, she received the “Bourse d’Excellence” du Quebec and started her Ph.D. at McGill University. During her Ph.D. studies, she received a student award from the Environmental Mutagenesis Society, and obtained her Ph.D in 1990.  

In 1994, she obtained a graduate diploma in Education at McGill University and ever since, she has been working in Education as a Biology teacher at Champlain College St. Lambert.

Her experience includes teaching Biology at the CEGEP level for almost 30 years, acting as a Department Coordinator for 13 years, and teaching at the University of Sherbrooke for the last 11 years.

Her interest in Education focuses on how students learn, and in blended learning.

She is currently the Coordinator of the Research component at the University of Sherbrooke and has the privilege to direct students in their M.Ed. studies.
