2026 - AlgoLab Summer School - Towards Fault Tolerant Quantum Computing - Advanced schools

Institut quantique’s Quantum AlgoLab is organizing and hosting its second Summer School from June 7th to 19th, 2026. This two-week event will take place at Bishop’s University in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

This event will focus on teaching the principles and methods of fault-tolerant quantum computing. By the end of the summer school, participants will have gained a solid understanding of the theoretical and practical foundations covering the fields of quantum computing, quantum information and complexity, quantum algorithms, and quantum error correction. They will also be able to apply these concepts to the design and analysis of error-resistant quantum systems. The summer school program will be officially recognized by the University of Sherbrooke as a graduate-level course (3 credits).

Interested individuals are encouraged to submit abstracts for scientific presentations and posters. Morning sessions will include lectures, and afternoon sessions will be dedicated to the practical programming of quantum algorithms.

Since 2020, AlgoLab has been exploring quantum computing across various sectors and has developed expertise unique in Quebec, notably through several collaborative projects with industrial and academic partners. With access to the most advanced systems (IBM Quantum, Pasqal, Nord Quantique, Anyon Systems) and a team of experts in quantum programming, AlgoLab has over 70 collaborative research projects with more than 100 partners, has organized over 200 scientific events, and has trained more than 9,500 people.
