At the heart of a creative and innovative environment, IRC Innovations for a Sustainable Planet stimulates new collaborative projects combining fundamental and applied research, promoting the emergence of new technologies and social innovations, their transfer to society, and the training of a new generation of specialists.
Research Areas
The theme Innovations for a Sustainable Planet is explored through four interdisciplinary areas:
- Responsible innovation, transitions, and biodiversity
- Micro-nanotechnologies
- Sustainable chemistry and material circularity - Responsible low-carbon materials for sustainable construction

Innovation and Entrepreneurship
The IRC Innovations for a Sustainable Planet supports—and thrives on—collaboration between CNRS Innovation and the Sherbrooke entrepreneurial ecosystem in connection with the whole of Quebec.

Call for Proposals - 2026 Edition
In line with the IRC's objectives, the University of Sherbrooke and the CNRS launched the 2026 edition of the doctoral thesis program between the two institutions.
