Innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem

The IRC is unique in that it has an innovation component, with an agreement with CNRS Innovation and the Sherbrooke-based Accélérateur de création d'entreprises technologiques (ACET), facilitating collaboration with startups.

Several French quantum startups established in Quebec are already benefiting from the ecosystem formed by the two innovation zones in microelectronics and quantum technology, of which the University of Sherbrooke is a co-founder.

In particular, this will involve:

• Promoting connections between startups identified as being of mutual interest and the IRC, and facilitating their development.
• Encouraging and promoting research collaborations between academics and industry, particularly startups, and facilitating access for startups supported by ACET and CNRS Innovation to French, European, and Canadian funding networks.
• Facilitating the identification and transfer of technologies to supported startups,
• Sharing expertise in technology transfer, and promoting entrepreneurial culture and various opportunities within startups originating from the University of Strasbourg and the CNRS.
