Impaired receptor trafficking are frequently implicated in diseases such as neurodegenerative disorders. We are studying the novel role of the signaling Gα proteins and Calnuc (a Gα-binding protein) in the regulation of receptor trafficking. Our main goal is to understand the importance of these proteins in the regulation of normal and altered cellular responses in the context of neuropathogenic events.
