Activités de collaboration internationale

  • Responsable d'une cotutelle (étudiant au doctorat). triglycérides (TG)Notre projet visait à développer une alternative pour l’obtention du biodiesel afin de répondre aux besoins québécois en carburant, tout en étant bénéfique pour l’environnement. Nous avons proposer d’utiliser des microalgues pouvant contenir plus de 70 % de leur masse en lipides. Cette biomasse est en effet la seule source reconnue capable de remplacer complètement le diesel d’origine fossile. Ces microalgues croissent rapidement (leur temps de doublement étant de l’ordre de 24h) et ont un rendement à l’hectare 30 fois supérieur aux oléagineux terrestres. Les contenus dans les microalgues ont extraits et transformés en biodiesel. Contrairement à la production de biodiesel à partir de graines oléagineuses, notre projet en utilisant les microalgues, n’appauvrira pas les ressources arables, et forestières et ne détournera pas de leur objectif les terres destinées à l’alimentation.
