Intérêts de recherche

Les travaux de Pr Oweida ont pour but d’améliorer la compréhension de l’effet des radiations sur le microenvironnement tumoral et de développer des stratégies afin de mitiger les effets négatifs des radiations sur la progression tumorale et l’apparition de métastases. Particulièrement, ses travaux portent sur l’étude des cancers de la tête et du cou par le biais de l’utilisation de techniques en biologie des radiations, biologie du cancer, immunologie et imagerie médicale. En parallèle à ses travaux sur la sur-expression de Tim-3 dans les cellules T comme mécanisme de résistance à la radiothérapie, et à l’utilisation de l’immunothérapie anti-PD-L1, Pr Oweida se concentre sur la caractérisation des mécanismes de radio-résistance et évasion immunitaire dans le cadre du cancer et à l’identification de biomarqueurs de résistance et de réponse aux traitements par radiations.
