Intérêts de recherche

Dr Christian Rochefort is an associate professor of Nursing at the Université de Sherbrooke and a researcher at the Centre de recherche du Centre hospitalier universitaire de Sherbrooke (CR-CHUS) and at the Centre de recherche de l'Hôpital Charles Le Moyne. His program of research is composed of two interrelated research axes. In the first axis, he works on the development and validation of novel measures of the quality and safety of patient care in a variety of clinical settings. He has developed expertise in using electronic clinical and administrative data as well as advanced data mining techniques, such as natural language processing and machine learning. In the second axis, he examines the impact of various nurse staffing practices (e.g., nurse-to-patient ratios, the use of overtime hours) on the quality and safety of patient care in hospitals. His program of research has been funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research on an ongoing basis since 2012.
