Equity, Diversity and Inclusion

Since 2017, various measures have been taken by funding agencies to prevent inequity in Canada’s post-secondary research communities.

Unfortunately, designated groups – women, visible minorities, Aboriginal peoples, and persons with disabilities – were underrepresented among chairholders of Canada Research Chairs.

Universities have had to respond to these requirements. Quantitative targets have been presented. 

The UdeS took on this challenge with gumption. At UdeS, equity, diversity and inclusion are not just policy. Beyond numbers, we are firmly committed to making them core values in research, applied at every level of decision-making.
