Application submission

Two competitions are held each year. The Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program welcomes applications during the following periods:

  • from February 1st to March 1st at 11:59 pm (winter competition) and
  • from August 1st to September 1st at 11:59 pm (fall competition)

Application procedure

Here is the procedure to follow if you wish to submit an application to the Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program, which consists of two types of scholarships: the Université de Sherbrooke Research Excellence Scholarships and the Laurent and Claire B. Beaudoin Excellence Scholarships.

The application submission procedure is simplified: everything is centralized in one place!

Applications not complying with the guidelines below will be considered inadmissible. The application form with the attached PDF file must be submitted before the competition deadline. Applications received after this date will not be considered. No updates are allowed after the submission deadline. A student may only apply once for a master's scholarship and once for a doctoral scholarship. Refer to the Université de Sherbrooke Graduate Research Excellence Scholarship Program Guidelines for detailed information. 

The applications must be submitted using the electronic formA single PDF file, with a maximum size of 10 MB, containing the following documents, in this specified order, must be attached to the application form during the application submission:

  1. The commitment form (will be available for the fall competition), signed by all parties. It is possible to apply to the competition even if the research supervisor is not determined at the time of the application submission. However, if the application is accepted and a scholarship is granted, the applicant must have sent the commitment form signed by all parties, including the research supervisor (an co-supervisor, if applicable), in order for the scholarship to be paid out, while ensuring that all eligibility requirements are met;
  2. The duly completed Application file (will be available for the fall competition) which includes the research project presentation and the applicants’ abbreviated research experience;
  3. All official university transcripts (with the institution’s seal), including the transcript issued for the diploma serving as the basis for admission in the graduate program;
  4. Proofs, certificates, editors’ notices or confirmation emails for publications and communications required in the application file;
  5. Proof of awards and scholarships;
  6. Any additional documents deemed important to support the application.

The document must be named as follows: lastname-firstname.pdf
