Cible(s) de formation

To study Indigenous literatures and cultural expression in Canada (Turtle Island) and selected countries. To understand the politics of representation in poems, short stories, theatre, cinema, autobiographies, and novels. To learn about social, cultural, and historical contexts and how they influence Indigenous realities and representations, along with questions of decolonization.

Contenu

The study of a wide range of subjects and questions in Indigenous cultural expression, as well as the historical conditions surrounding the texts themselves. The focus will be on Indigenous literature and Indigenous peoples across Canada and the world, including issues concerning territory, environmentalism, voice, identity, self-determination, resistance, decolonization, cultural survival, and redress.
