Structures et matériaux composites de polymères renforcés de fibres (PRF),  structures en béton

Activités de recherche

  • Caractérisation physique et mécanique des matériaux composites de polymères renforcés de fibres (PRF) pour les structures de génie civil. Développement de nouvelles méthodes d’essais et critères de performance.  Développement de nouveaux produits de PRF plus performants. Critères d’exigences et certification.
  • Renforcement et réhabilitation de structures à l’aide de matériaux composites de PRF.
  • Études sur les propriétés à court et à long terme des armatures de flexion et de cisaillement en matériaux composites pour les structures en béton.
  • Évaluation de la durabilité des renforcements en matériaux composites de PRF sous sollicitations mécaniques et environnementales variées.  Performance des armatures en matériaux composites soumises à des environnements d’application extrêmes (milieu alcalin, températures, charges cycliques, etc.).
  • Études expérimentales et modélisation du comportement de membrures en béton armé avec des barres et étriers en matériaux composites de PRF (poutres, dalles, colonnes, murs, etc.) sous différentes conditions de chargement. Développement de lois de comportement et d’outils numériques.
  • Études sur la longueur de développement et de chevauchement d’armature de PRF noyées dans le béton sous charges statiques et cycliques. 
  • Applications aux poutres et aux dalles telles que celles des tabliers de ponts routiers et des stationnements étagés. Réalisation de projets pilotes sur le terrain.
  • Études sur les chaussées  d’autoroutes de béton armé de PRF (dalles jointées et dalles de béton armé continu).
  • Études sur des structures hybrides PRF/béton et PRF/bois.
  • Monitorage et intégration de capteurs à base de fibres optiques dans les matériaux composites pour la surveillance et le suivi à distance du comportement des structures.

  4. Projets de spécialité et encadrement de projets étudiants de 1er cycle crédités dans le domaine des matériaux et génie des structures.

Publications scientifiques

Le professeur Benmokrane a publié 444 articles scientifiques publiés au cours des 20 dernières années dont 182 articles scientifiques dans des revues avec comité de lecture et 262 articles dans des comptes rendus de conférences avec comité de lecture, 27 chapitres de livre, et plus de 180 rapports techniques avec ses étudiants gradués, stagiaires postdoctoraux et collaborateurs universitaires. ·        Titulaire d’une Chaire de recherche du CRSNG pour professeur-chercheur industriel principal sur les « Renforcements en matériaux composites de PRF innovateurs pour les structures en béton » (4e mandat de 5 ans), Conseil de recherche en sciences naturelles et en génie du Canada – Les chaires industrielles CRSNG-seniors sont octroyées aux chercheurs principaux émérites de renommée internationale qui peuvent apporter une perspective novatrice à l'université dans l'exécution et la gestion de la recherche et dans la formation de chercheurs.
