Main interests
Dr. Alarie is an Assistant Professor in the Microbiology and Infectiology Department. After two years of pediatric training, she completed a residency in microbiology and infectiology (2001). She worked in Québec City before joining the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at the Université de Sherbrooke in 2003.
In 2005, she was named director of the microbiology and infectiology post-doctoral program. In this capacity, she organizes and supervises the academic activities of our senior residents during their three years in the program. She also supervises the residents during their clinical rotations and at the clinical microbiology laboratory at the CHUS. Dr. Alarie is particularly interested in pediatric infectious diseases and the prevention of nosocomial infections. She is very active in the infection prevention team at the CHUS and in preparations for a flu pandemic. She is also a member of the team managing patients with HIV.
