AlgoLab | PauliArray

December 2023 - ongoing

Pauli matrices and Pauli chains are ubiquitous in quantum computation. They form a natural basis for describing different operators and observables in various problems in quantum physics and chemistry, as well as in optimisation.

Although tools already exist for manipulating these objects, there is still room for optimisation in their implementation. PauliArray therefore aims to provide a flexible, high-performance tool for manipulating Pauli chains.

As an example, we have compared the time required to perform Jordan-Wigner encoding for small molecules using Qiskit, OpenFermion and PauliArray.
