Research Institutes

A research institute is a group of several professors or teams gathered around a comprehensive and multidisciplinary research field.

Research institutes are comprised of at least 20 members—UdeS professors. They normally include multiple faculties and can also be across several universities. Research institutes are recognized as the Université’s highest level based on specific evaluation criteria.

The UdeS recognizes five research institutes, whose primary mission is to conduct high-calibre research activity, train graduate students, and serve the community by developing innovations.
