Research Chairs

Ève Langelier holds the Chair for Women in Science and Engineering in Quebec. With her team, she is actively working towards increasing female representation in science and engineering. A great source of pride for the UdeS.

Research chairs foster research and innovation in cutting-edge fields. They enable their chairholders to reach new heights in terms of knowledge advancement in their fields of specialty. This prestigious title is aimed at the scientific elite and many UdeS professors have been named as chairholder.

A chair can be funded by one or several donors, industries, private or public organizations, or funding agencies such as the Canada Research Chairs Program, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.
