Activités de collaboration internationale

  • Therese Leblois (Univ. de Franche-Comté, FEMTO-ST Institute, Besançon, France), Dr. Leblois carries out an advanced research of GaAs-based surface-acoustic wave devices for biosensing. My contribution to this project concerns biofunctionalization of GaAs for specific attachment of biomolecules of interest. Since 2012, we co-supervise a cotutelle PhD student supported by MITACS Canada and Université de Franche-Comté. (2011-09-01)
  • Jian-Jun He (Ctr. for Int. Optoelectr., Zhejiang Univ., Hangzhou, China), In collaboration with Dr. He, I have been investigating a technology of quantum well intermixing (QWI) for the fabrication of integrated photonic devices. During my visits to Dr. He's laboratory, I have supervised graduate students involved in the application a laser technology for QWI. Among them, one PhD student completed his thesis in 2013, and another is expected to finish in 2014. Also, an MSc graduate from this laboratory (Neng Liu) has recently completed her PhD thesis in Sherbrooke. This project has been supported by the FRQNT Merit Scholarship Program for Foreign Students and the program of the Canada Research Chair in Quantum Semiconductors. (2009-01-01)
  • Andrei Kabashin (CNRS Research Director, Aix-Marseille University, France), The collaboration with Dr. Kabashin concerns plasmonic devices and the development of integrated biosensors based on surface plasmon resonance mediated quantum well photoluminescence. A 3-year project, supported by an NSERC Strategic grant, enabled us to advance both fundamental and practical knowledge of plasmonic devices. In 2011, I spent part of my sabbatical leave in the laboratory of Dr. Kabashin and we determined a long-term research plan taking advantage of the semiconductor technology and nanofabrication facilities in Sherbrooke and designing and modelling of plasmonic devices in Aix-Marseille. Some test plasmonic nanostructures have currently been fabricated in Sherbrooke. Dr. Kabashin is a member of the PhD evaluation committee for one of my students. (2008-09-01)
