For postdoctoral fellows who already receive a salary

In the short and medium term, there will be no changes to the arrangements applicable to postdoctoral fellows already considered to be employees, with the exception of union dues. 

• Payment of union dues will begin once the SAREUS union has officially notified the UdeS of the dues rate (as a percentage of salary paid). 
• These new union dues will be automatically deducted at source (i.e., directly from the postdoctoral fellow’s pay) with each pay period 
• The amount of the compensation paid to postdoctoral fellows will remain unchanged until the collective agreement comes into force. Negotiations between representatives of the SAREUS union for the new bargaining unit and the UdeS’s administration to finalize this first collective agreement covering postdoctoral fellows are expected to begin this fall.
