NEARS

iNnovative Easy Assistance Reassuring System

NEARS is a platform for designing a user-friendly smart home based on artificial intelligence (AI). This platform brings together technological solutions developed in a multidisciplinary approach. Users, both professional and personal, can easily install and customize smart features to their own needs, turning their home into a smart home. They will be accompanied by NEARS during all phases, from design to installation, until commissioning. Seniors will be aging at home, interacting with friends and family, with NEARS 'short-term, long-term monitoring capabilities and real-time cognitive assistance.

The NEARS project (also known as WP3.3b under the AGE WELL umbrella) continues the work of the DIY-Aide project (WP3.3) carried out as part of the pan-Canadian AGE WELL network. For more information, see the DIY-Aide project page and the AGE WELL network site.
