General Description of the Division’s Activities
The Division of Urology is composed of four University Full-Time Professors and two Clinical Teaching Professors. We participate in clinical care, research, and teaching activities related to urology.
Clinical activities encompass all tertiary specialties, mainly focusing on oncology, urolithiasis, and urinary incontinence. Surgical activities under general anesthesia and needing hospitalization are performed at CHUS – Fleurimont Hospital. Surgical activities under local anesthesia are performed at CHUS – Fleurimont Hospital and Hôtel-Dieu. Clinics have been implemented in Magog, Coaticook, Lac Megantic, and Asbestos.
The division participates in the Faculty of Medicine’s undergraduate teaching activities through participation in the uronephrology and reproduction stage, and clerk supervision. We also conduct postdoctoral teaching through residency training jointly with McGill University. The first three years of the program are held at the Université de Sherbrooke, while the remaining two years are held at McGill University. We also welcome residents in general surgery and gynecology during their training.
