Cible(s) de formation

This seminar will allow graduate students to become familiar with the production of "minority" literatures and discourses in Canada and Quebec. Questions related to cultural identity, collective memory, linguistic "interference", intercultural dialogue, and discourses of nationhood will be explored.

Contenu

The bilingual corpus will shed light upon the representation of Anglophone minorities in Quebec and Francophone minorities in English Canada. Theoretical readings on multiculturalism, interculturalism, minority and identity politics, and translation studies will inform a bilingual corpus of representative novels, short stories, plays, and poetry published since 1920.
