BRP - Université de Sherbrooke Advanced Technology Centre (CTA)

By conducting collaborative research with the Université de Sherbrooke, BRP and its partners intend to become world leaders in the development of innovative technologies for the motorized recreational vehicle industry.

The Centre de technologies avancées BRP-UdeS (BRP - Université de Sherbrooke Advanced Technology Centre (CTA)) is working to achieve the following objectives:

  • conduct ground-breaking research in order to develop advanced technologies in the recreational product industry;
  • train highly qualified personnel with a Master’s or Doctorate in Engineering;
  • develop the next generation of engineers, particularly in the field of recreational products;
  • contribute to the social and economic development of the Eastern Townships and of Québec.

Research Areas

The five main research areas are:

  • motors
  • transmissions and drive trains
  • suspension and shock absorber systems
  • materials and manufacturing processes
  • the environment (e.g.: exhaust, environmental noise…) and other technologies (aerodynamics, hydrodynamics…)
